Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Needs YOU. VITA, sponsored by 125 Live and Salvation Army, provides free tax preparation services to our area’s low- and moderate-income individuals. Last year the program’s 80 volunteers assisted over 3,000 taxpayers in filing their returns and securing refunds.
We need preparers and greeters to work at 6 different sites and 14 senior residential sites. Training is provided in December. Tax sessions start in February. You can volunteer to provide tax assistance at 125 LIVE! You do not need to be a trained accountant to help. However, it would be best if you were interested in learning new things.
